Land

Having moved so often and being from the deep south, my art practice is a reflection and  response to the landscape, history, and cultural environment of an area.  The pieces are stitched, cut, draped, and layered creating an abstract pull between the handmade and the environment. I am towards creating a tension between repair and rupture, embodying a commitment I have  to process-based resistance. Meaning making the pieces as earth friendly as possible.
